Don’t miss out on a night under the stars for the Start of the School Summer holidays. We are having one night of camping on the main pitch on Saturday the 26th of June open to Club family members. Our Junior classes have enjoyed hockey sessions with the very talented coaches from Navan Hockey Club. NHC are holding their summer camp again this year and would love to see any of our children there. Please find the details on the here
On Wednesday we were very lucky that Aoibheann Leahy, one of Meaths’s All-Ireland winning ladies decided to pay us a visit and bring along the Mary Quinn Memorial Cup. She told us all about her training regime, why she plays and some of the lifestyle habits that are needed to win an All Ireland medal. She was very generous with her time answering any questions that the children had for.
On Thursday the 3rd of June, the Junior Classes from Ms. Tobin’s Junior Infants to Ms. Moriarty’s Second Class, including our Speech & Language Class thoroughly enjoyed their 2021 Sports Day outing up in the glorious O’Mahony’s GAA Club pitches in the sunshine. All the children wore their backpacks filled with sports items, a hearty lunch and drinks and invested every ounce of energy into having the best school day.
On Tuesday 8th of June our Senior classes decamped to Navan O’Mahony’s campus for our annual sports day. Although the parents were missed the atmosphere was buzzing and the children had a great day. It was lovely after all the hardship of the last year to hear the laughs and see the smiles as the children participated in a variety of sports. Even the big children (teachers) took part in.
Mrs Fox’s 3rd class took part in postponed Science week this week. Each day they completed a different experiment. On Monday they designed and made parachutes that could land an egg safely from an upstairs window. On Tuesday they made ice-cream by lowering the freezing point of ice using salt – like what happens when the roads are salted. On Wednesday they made helicopters and had a little competition to.
