First Holy Communion

First-CommThe children of the two second classes made their Communion on Saturday the 10th of May. Their class teachers Mrs. Hughes and Mrs. Mc Elwaine are extremely proud of all the hard work the children did in preparation for their special day.

Fr. Heery was so impressed with how well the children read their readings and prayers and delighted with the children who did the mime for the Our Father and brought up the gifts. The children looked fantastic in their beautiful dresses and suits and the hairstyles were very impressive indeed!!!

The school choir were stunning as per usual and really outdid themselves this year. A big thanks to Ms. Geoghegan who conducted the children on the day and to Michelle and Annabella who sang solo. A favourite part of the celebration was when the children placed flowers on Mary’s altar and sang, ‘Queen of the May’.

The children had a fun day on Monday after their Communion and had great fun in the hall dancing to One Direction and Katy Perry! We also got to watch the D.V.D. as a class which was very special.

The children of both classes had a wonderful day afterwards, despite the rain, spending time with their family and friends who joined them to celebrate this special occasion.

Congratulations to all!!
