We were very excited last year when we were included in the announcement of new schools to be awarded DEIS Urban Band 2 status. While we are still in the process of implementing the changes, here is a little snippet of what this will mean for our school.
-We now have free lunches under the Schools Meals Programme for all our students in place with The Lunch Bag company. We are working to get ovens installed and in time will be offering hot lunches also.
-We have a Home, School, Community Liaison (HSCL) Coordinator in place-Caoimhe Moriarty. She is here to help support the adults in our students lives for the wellbeing of both child and adult. She is shared with Navan Educate Together and is available in St. Anne’s on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Caoimhe works from our brand new Parent’s Room in the Blue Yard.
-We now have access to literacy and numeracy supports such as Reading Recovery, Maths Recovery, First Steps, Ready Set Go Maths. Training for these supports has started for some of our staff and will be rolled out in time.
These are just some of the perks and we continue to implement these alongside our existing programmes for the benefit of all our students.
