Mrs Fox’s 3rd class took part in postponed Science week this week. Each day they completed a different experiment. On Monday they designed and made parachutes that could land an egg safely from an upstairs window. On Tuesday they made ice-cream by lowering the freezing point of ice using salt – like what happens when the roads are salted. On Wednesday they made helicopters and had a little competition to see who could tweak the design to make the best helicopter. On Thursday they made lava lamps- looking at how different liquids can not mix. For the final day the children made screaming balloons – looking at centripedal force and friction. The children really enjoyed the week.
